The Golden Hour Series: Dusk to Dawn

No matter if you witness the grandeur of the sun kissing the horizon on the front or back nine of your evening, it’s impact is the same. Life seems to stand still, if just for a few minutes. Conversation stops. You forget what you are doing and pause to take in its beauty. The sky painted pastels and the surrounding mountains defined in the alpineglow. Simply put, it’s the Golden Hour. It happens twice a day and your life is richer the more you witness it.

This series of mixes was inspired by the emotion evoked by this time of day. Acting as bookends to your evening; one for dusk to warm you up and one for dawn to not go softly into that good night. Enjoy……

“When we were kids, this meant an hour later of playtime, of sunlight…of life. When we “grow up”, nothing changes. It is one of the few things that draws us back to youth. Music is another that induces memories of the past. I LOVE you music.

This mixtape was produced on the eve of Daylight Savings. Two DJs, thankful for the Spring and Summer months ahead and all the greatness that will come with it. Designed to compliment warm air and the alpenglow of the evening, this mix is special. Not only because we believe the tunes are dope, but because how it was made. Collectively, openly and with purpose.

The winter time is for chilling. Here in California we don’t do enough of it. Our weather is so killer the natural slowdown of the winter never truly reaches us. This mix was inspired by the thought of chilling out, slowing down and resting before the fast pace of the summer is upon us once again. Great to listen to by a fire or watching a sunset from the warmth of a ski cabin. It pulls from artist new and old and from many different genres, all with common mellow vibe. I hope you like it………

fresh and sunny is the collaboration of two like minded dj’s. ‘freshair’ and ’78 and sunny’. hence, fresh and sunny. fresh and sunny is playing dj music for people who don’t like dj’s…and for most who do. a cross blend  of indie electro-funk jams that make you remember/realize that the party is just getting started. these guys have their ears to the streets and to the decks. look out for these guys.

this mix was inspired by the gathering of goodness that happened during our ‘occupy murietta’ session for a friends 30th birthday party in which the 1950′s era was the theme. the 50′s music bled into more current jams and a dance floor full of frisky bodies as the night went on and these are some of our favorites from the eve. more of a auditory time stamp  to bring back a little morsel of the amazing energy of that weekend.
