The Weeknd is pretty dirty. A hip hop/R & B vibe with great vocals and really deep rooted beats is perfect for background music to a party or better yet getting down with that special (freak nasty) someone. We featured them about a year ago here.

Denmark’s Georgiaa is the dream/ghost/noise-pop project of Mathias Anderson. There’s something simply amazing about his combination of drum machine, lo-fi hiss/pop overlays, soothing dark vocals, along with simple guitar and synth notes. I really can’t stop playing this one and want to live in this strangely beautiful sound world he has created. Georgiaa’s The Lake EP is available for download from his bandcamp site for a pay what you want price.
Wise Blood is the project of Chris Laufman, originally from Pittsburgh and now living in New York. His music is broken electro-gospel pop full of samples and layers that you’ll need headphones to fully appreciate. Although somewhat obscure upon first listen, the songs have great composition that make it possible to dance to every song or just sit in a chair outside alone and rock your head. The songs are fairly short, but the mysterious story they create ventures far past two minutes. The video for “B.I.G. E.G.O.” is a great intro to Wise Blood and the nod of David Parker to direct it is a show of his talent.
