Joel Sossa shows us once more that it’s not about just taking a picture, it’s about capturing the right moment with just the right people. He makes it look so easy, but for any of you whom have shot a lookbook or editorial attempting to stage scenes like this, you know it’s not that simple.
With summer just around the bend we found it fitting to feature the photography of Jenavieve Belair. Her knack for positioning herself around stunning, stylish young women makes us all want to be so lucky. Jenavieve paints a picture of a perfect summer day using the quintessential real life props; beers, skateboards, sunnies. We pulled a few of our favorites and suddenly found we had a badass collection of beauties wearing sunglasses, then we threw in a few more of our favorites for good measure. Jenavieve hails from Southern California and shoots brands such as Raen, RVCA, Port and a few more of our favorites. Enjoy much more of her work here.

Yes, it’s Monday, and you might be thinking it’s too early for a deep house set. We can assure you, it isn’t. I feel like I’ve just watched a series of short films when I look through Evan’s work. The cinematic quality of his photography reminds me of some of my favorite independent or foreign films because of the types of moods he sets. The photos are simple, yet moving, and yes the subjects are beautiful, but it doesn’t feel overly glamorous or forced and instead the moments seem authentic and natural. Evan’s photos make us want to road trip, to play dress-up, to fall in love, to be young. We feel fortunate to be able to feature Evan’s work today, and hope you spend the time to look at more of his work here.
We’ve featured Bil Zelman’s work before, and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. This series of photos from Coachella offers a look into the festival from a slightly less glamorous, yet creative and honest way. Loving the composition and simplicity of these.

I have been expanding my collection of printed pants and recently came across a number that has me drooling all over. The pieces of Clover Canyon. These are not just printed pants, they are truly a work of art, and as I was creating a wish list, I saw their swim collection…and THEN, I saw their collaboration with Los Angeles based artist Alexandra Grant. Based out of LA, each piece depicts the lifestyle and joyful spirit of California. All of these patterns are drawn, cut, and sewn in house to fit like a kaleidoscope of colors over the curves of these sunkissed women. The prints, they say, embark on endless voyage, from the tribal plains of Africa and the courts of ancient kings, through the annals of art history, and beyond. They’re bold, vibrant, and seem to dare me to try them on.
