John Jagos, aka Brothertiger, has been working super hard the past few years – moving from Ohio to New York and working his way up in the music scene. From the release of Future Splendors, strong collaborations, and extensive touring, Brothertiger has been gaining much deserved momentum.
Jagos pays hommage to Talking Heads’ classic This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody) which he calls his “favorite song in my life.” It’s gotta be difficult and exciting to come up with a cover for a song that is a personal favorite and a cult classic of many, but Brothertiger pulls this one together and puts an emphatic signature in all the right places which is evident from the first second of the track. Jagos doesn’t try to re-invent the wheel, instead he inflates the tires just right and takes us for a nice cruise with Jagos driving and David Byrne navigating.

Out of all those kinds of people
You got a face with a view
I’m just an animal looking for a home
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you love me till my heart stops
Love me till I’m dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you
Cover up the blank spots
Hit me on the head Ah ooh
