Beeple aka Mike Winkelmann is a US-based graphic designer who creates digital illustrations on a daily. His world is mainly inspired by science-fiction. Many of his sketches look like they’re part of a movie’s storyboard, while some others are plain conceptual. His surreal landscapes are inhabited by cultish or worshipping figures, machinery and organic structures.
He posts one artwork a day on his Behance portfolio and website. Why does he do that? Quote Mike: “By posting the results online, I’m “less” likely to throw down a big pile of ass-shit even though most of the time I still do because I suck ass.”
Aha! Time to build some confidence here. I like Mike’s stuff because it makes me dream of going to otherworldly places. You might want to check my gallery curation below to see why. When you do that make sure to catch the stunning motion graphics, too, they are frequently used for music videos—like in the case of Flying Lotus featured below.
The pros amongst you might find it worthwhile to check Beeple’s website to find out about the tools and software Mike uses.
