Artist Chris Maynard carves feather art out of birds’ feathers using a scalpel.
“Each feather, though dead and discarded, keeps something of the bird’s essence,” Maynard told COLOSSAL magazine the other day. “Since I work mostly with shed feathers, some of the birds that grew them are likely still living.”
We acknowledge the craftsmanship displayed here. And the concept of creating art out of a living creature without harming it deserves our biggest thumbs up. Triple A for idea and execution.
