Grimes is the witch house electronic pop project of Canadian Claire Boucher. Boucher was born in Vancouver and is an expressive artist and poised performer in every sense. Her music is a living, breathing perpetually evolving mirror of the very cultural life that she is at the forefront of defining. The Montreal, Quebec resident has quietly released three albums over the course of two years with a fourth offering titled Visions coming out January 31st of next year on Arbutus Records. I don’t think offering up comparisons to other artists to be fair to what Grimes is, as music like this has been done many times over but somehow Boucher has created a new direction and blazed her own trails. The music is cold and dark, uplifting and warm with everything in between. Airy synth pop that is grounded but doesn’t take itself too seriously. It is easy to realize the artistic value Grimes has whether it be the passion or raw talent that this young woman possesses.

Mix of the Month March 2019 — compiled by Niklaus Katzorke
"Without music, life would be a mistake". These words of Friedrich Nietzsche could perfectly fit in with our next interviewee, german DJ/Producer Niklaus Katzorke for whom music is “a total bliss”.
Mix of the Month January 2019 — compiled by Peter Schumann
Sound can be described as invisible waves transporting vibrations. Music is the art of combining that energy into patterns that trigger emotions. DJ/producer Peter Schumann knows his art quite well—eclectic; highly engaging low frequencies; a personal rhythm that makes the whole sound flow uniquely, and thus even has a genre tag of its own—"elastic house".
